Originally developed as a cure for Attention deficit disorder, Focus is an artificial neural attention enhancer which was popular on Earth in the mid 21st century as a student study aid and recreational drug.
It was sold illicitly in complicated packages or 'designs' that required immense concentration to open, thereby necessitating the use of the drug in the first place.
The invention of neural implants lead to an almost instantaneous decline in it's use and the subsequent end to poly-math-music. Thank God for that.
