SWAMPI is possibly the most powerful industry association onSlab. It's membership is responsible for controlling more than 85% of all intellectual property exploitation agreements which in turn make up over 70% of SlabEconomy.

Despite the official stance of 'mutual enlightened self-interest' espoused by the organisation, in truth, a bitter rivalry exists between SWAMPI and the publishing and media cartels (see BASTARDS). This rivalry has led to at least three all-out wars PD and several local skirmishes, the media content of which was, of course, managed by SWAMPI insiders.
