Most of the residential sections of Slab (with the notable exception of Big Yin) are separated into two opposing sides; UpSideDown (UpSide) and DownSideUp (SideUp).
The inhabitants of each side are used to taking sides and adopting various stances and attitudes against the 'opposing' side.
The current common terms for the inhabitants of each side (who wish to be identified as such) are 'Uppies' and 'Siders'.
It is pitiful that in the second cyclelenium of Slab we are faced with such tribalism, but it is, at least, entertaining.
