Neural Implants

Neural Implants (neural interface, N.I.s or Eyes) are the default - and in most cases only - method of interfacing with Sis and 99.99% of all onSlab technology.

Technology

A neural implant is a meta-pico network made up of several hundred-million nano interfaces telefused into the synapses in specific parts of the human brain, usually at the medium level functions of language and numeracy, aural processing and visual perception along with knowledge-base search and acquisition functions.

All eyes are powered by embedded micro-Noles and communicate via encrypted sub-ether harmonic resonance, thereby avoiding any back-emf interference with the electrical activity of the bio-side of the brain.

Eyedetic Memory

A neural implant that is permanently connected to Sis serves as an interface to an inexhaustible memory space with instant recall[1] and multi-thread options. While this facility is of obvious advantage to all, it is clearly vulnerable to linktrigue. For this reason, SlabWide prefs are currently set to a maximum of ten successive link enquiries before Sis instigates a fascination-loop interrupt. Specialist enquiry level training is required in order to avoid this.

Reading

Sequential textural assimilation by the mental comparison of symbols to pre-learned glyphs and the subsequent formation of 'words' with a complex system of semantics and multiple meanings (aka 'reading') is not only tediously slow, prone to errors and tiresome but is made completely unnecessary by the neural interface. However, despite the virtual absence of text onSlab for anything other than brand identifiers and ancient ceremonial traditions, there remains a small market for timed-delivery, information only, story-telling onSlab. In order to receive a non-voice progressive eye-feed, please request sequential story mode.

It may surprise many to learn that the information you are currently accessing is also stored in Slabscapedia as text and can actually be accessed by sume[2].
